Created a series of 80 meticulously designed lessons crafted by Tenicka Norwood in collaboration with the National Education Association (NEA) and Better Lesson.

Project Details

Throughout the curriculum:

Crosscutting concepts, such as patterns, cause and effect, and systems thinking, are integrated to foster a holistic understanding of physics. Science and engineering practices are emphasized, encouraging students to develop skills like data analysis, modeling, and constructing explanations. Each lesson includes detailed learning objectives, instructional strategies, suggested assessments, and relevant resources. The curriculum provides a coherent progression of content and skills, allowing students to build a deep conceptual understanding of physics while developing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Project Requirements

This curriculum aims to provide 9th-grade students with a solid foundation in physics, aligning with the three dimensions of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the Common Core State Standards (CSSS). The Big Ideas, assessments and guided lessons along with the reasoning behind the location of each lesson in sequence was outlined and available for downloading by members of the National Education Association.
